Day 5-Sunday

We did a lot of walking today.  Scott would say it was unproductive but I would say it was adventurous.  Began at the cemetery around the corner. It was really interesting with graves from 1820 to the present.

Then went on to the Eiffel Tower.  Once we saw the lines, we decided that we would rather not spend our vacation waiting in lines.  So past the annoying street vendors and out into the neighborhood we wandered.

We managed to find a delicious patisserie and got our first pain du chocolat!  Tres Bon!  We found our way to a market street where we had crepes and watched the people, then walked to the musee d'orsay.

The pont Neuf with the locks were fun.  Scott and I symbolically threw a key in the seine instead of buying in.

It's a long walk, and when we saw the lines again, there was some disappointment/frustration.  Macarons and ice cream make everything better!

On to the musee d'orlangerie to see water lilies.

Guess who was tired of walking?

Then to find our way back.... I know, we'll take the metro to the arc and walk home from there.  Oops, that's the wrong arche.

This thing is huge!!
All those dots underneath it are people.

The arc de triumphe is way, way down there in the center!

It was still pretty cool out here.  We had dinner and got the train back home.  Everyone is very tired.

The building at the end of our street.  There are two flats for sale.......

  1. Maybe you can try the sites with long lines later in the week (like the Eiffel Tower). It's probably busier on the weekend.Don't get discouraged. At least the food sounds good.
